Really Big Red is the 15th best coach in the NFL?
The draft is over and now NFL writers are looking for something to write about. Over at National Football Post they decided to do a head coach power ranking story. The list is a little over the place, but the one thing that drives me nuts is ranking Eagles head coach Andy Reid in the teens, come on he is a pain but he is a top level coach. Come on we all hate Andy at some point but lets be honest he is a top 10 coach.

Lets start the hype machine for Super Bowl XLVIII
So Super Bowl XLVIII at the Meadowlands is two years away and already the hype machine has started. In Sundays New York Times' sports section the committee that brought the game to the Met Life Stadium took out an ad counting down to the game. If you think that this years hype was out of control, wait till Super Bowl XLVIII, its should be out of control.

Rugters making a statement
There was a day when I thought I would never see this: seven former Scarlet Knights in Conference Championships games; three starters. This shows how far the program has cover the last decade.

The Year that was for Only Time Will Tell
Its been a big year at the home offices of Only Time Will Tell from baseball games to football game to soccer matches, its been a year of tailgating and enjoying what the fabulous world of sports has to offer. During the past year the home office has grown with the birth of my wife and I's son, he will be starting as a contributor in the coming years. Here are some of my favorite sporting moments that I was able to experience live.
- Dr No Roy Halladay's no-hitter against the Reds in Game 1 of the National League Division Series. It was the first baseball playoff game that I had every been to and boy did it work out well
- Strasmas in Philly: As a Nats fan it might be the highlight of the baseball year, seeing Strasburg in person, little did I know that it would be the final time that he pitched all season and maybe next.
- Glory, Glory, Glory Man. United: Manchester United visited Philadelphia to take on the Union this year and of course we where there. It was great to see Berba in person and if all goes well I got to see the Premier League Champions before the season even kicked off.
- Don't Tread on Me: There is nothing better then seeing your national soccer especially if its their last game before they head over to the World Cup. Singing the National Anthem that day is something that I will never forget.
- MLS Here We Come: First trip to the new Red Bull Arena, simply amazing. A world class facility.
- Doctor is in the House: First time seeing Roy Halladay pitch in person, as per most of the season, he was simply fantastic.
- Rutgers Spring Game: It was the first game for the Little Guy. It could be the day that he falls in love with football.
- The Legend of Chas Dodd Grows: It was my first time at the New Meadowlands Stadium and boy was I not impressed.
- Eli Learns how to slide again: First time seeing a Eagles/Giants game in person and we learned again that Eli still has no idea how to slide.

It's Official
A year that started with a lot of question has given the Eagles a NFC East Division title, I hope this is the first of more championships to come our way.

The Eagles take field against the Gmen
The Smoke builds and Mike Vick comes out. Never thought that this fan base would love the former Virginia Tech star like they do now.
Professional Tailgating: Eli learns how to slide again
So with no Rutgers home game on the schedule, OTWT headed to the Eagles and Giants. At the game that we learned that Eli Manning still has no idea how to slide.
Gotta love a TV that is as big as my house
Ray Diddy, every ones hero
Vaughn tries to show of his Super Bowl ring
There are a bunch of weird people walking around the Linc
Giant fans had their head down after Eli decided to slide like Ryan Howard

Giant Stadium Super Bowl, this could work out for the Eagles
So the New Giant Stadium is going to host the Super Bowl in 2014. I for one am not a big fan of this, but as an Eagle fan this could all work out in the end.A Super Bowl at Giant Stadium would be the perfect place for the Eagles to break their Super Bowl drought, win it on your rivals home field, the thought of that makes me smile. It would also be the perfect way for Andy Reid to ride off into the sunset by winning a Super Bowl at Giant Stadium. Nothing would be better then seeing Andy's mustache covered in a little ice picking up the Lombardi Trophy. It would be the perfect ending the era.

Where do we go from here?
Last night was tough, today has also been tough. When your teams crashes out of the playoffs like the Eagles did last night, its hard to figure out what is next and with the Birds that is no different. During the game one thing became really clear, the Cowboys are better then the Eagles right now. Unlike most Eagles fans, I can admit that, this might be their year and that is that. The one thing that I'm struggling with is where the Birds go from here: do they blow everything up and start over or do they try to just add a couple of people and take another shot at it. Right now I'm leaning toward adding a couple of more defensive players and taking another shot at it. The Eagles need to add some size on the d-line and maybe some more help in the secondary. As for firing Andy and trading Mc5, that is not worth it at this point. For one this is the second youngest team in the league and there is still room for it to grow. Blowing up would mean getting rid of someone our best players like Peters, DJ, and Brent. That would lead us down the track of being a 5-11 team.
While most fans might scream for the end of the era, just be careful this is the most successful era the Eagles have ever had and if its blown up there is no guarantee that we will ever get back to this level. So I say we grow up a little and head back at it again and just remember the Giants did not make the playoffs, so that will make any Eagles fan smile for a couple of seconds.

My Thanksgiving Weekend
The Thanksgiving weekend means a variety of things to a variety of people. For me it means a couple of things: stomach aches from eating too much, trips up and down the Garden State Parkway, and sports lots of it from college football to the NFL to college basketball to maybe a little NHL.
This year has been no different. Starting with the Lions and ending with Josh McDaniels saying "winning Mother Fucking game" and Brian Dawkins playing like an animal. Also on the plate was a sock that had a hole in it as well as watching various college basketball games that featured coaches in camping shirts, for some it was a good look while for others it was a fashion disaster.
Day two of the weekend started in freezing weather on the golf course. Sure I played the whole round in a woolie and under armor, I did not hit the ball that poorly. The rest of the day was more of the same college football. To end the day I listen to Mark Jones call the WVU/Pitt game and I'm dumber for it right now.
Day three has been a little calmer. It Started with the Premier League and then moved on to college football which was good but the only negative is that Matt Millen has followed me again. On Thanksgiving night he called the Giants and Broncos and on Saturday he called Georgia Tech, make him stop. He is the worst.
Day four has been full of stress, mostly from the eagles but it all worked out in the end as they beat the skins. The day started by watching the premier league game between Arsenal and Chelski, thanks gunners for helping me out. The Heels also beat Nevada for Ole Roy's 600 win wrapped up the day.
It's been a long weekend. I have watched so much sports that my eyes hurt. Also my fingers hurt from sending a ton of text messages. Just look at the labels on this post and you can tell how busy a weekend its been. I'm happy to head back to work just so it slows down my sports watching for a couple of days.

Everyone is picking the Super Bowl include a Camel
Everyone is picking the winner of the Super Bowl including the presidents and many other political types, but the strangest pundit comes from a zoo in New Jersey. Princess the Camel has been picking football games all year, now she end her season by picking the Super Bowl. Princes came to national prominence last year when she picked the Giants to be the then undefeated Patriots in the Super Bowl and since then she has continued to pick games, but she has lost three of her last four.

Really Super Sunday
Some sports days are better then others and Sunday was one of them. United vs. Chelski, Eagles vs. Giants in the divisional round, and then North Carolina vs. Wake Forest. With all of the games it will be a three shirt day. Here is a time line of the days events:
9:19: Church is over pregame meal time.
9:59: Pregame meal finished. Ihop country fried stake skillet. Can not beat that.
10:30: Just finished skimming the Sunday papers, its only an half an hour till the day gets rolling.
11:00: A sign at the Theatre of Dreams: Viva John Terry. Surprised by Neville seeing the field today.
11:05: Really Ian Dowie, no Robbie Earle. This is not good at all.
11:21: Ashley Cole is a bitch. Very simple
11:32: This is starting to really kick off.
11:43: Chelski seem like they are starting to get going
11:50: We got our goal, Vidic and Really Super Saturday is off to a good start.
Noon: Half time got the bathrooms trip out of the way and got the drink. Ready f
or the second half of United/Chelski.
12:27: The Rooney with the goal. But Park has been our best player, his work rate is amazing.
12:35: Drogba blows another chance. What a shock.
12:45: I wonder what the Special One thinks of the Gene Hakman, Big Phil.
12:55: Berba, 3-0. Change shirt, change location. Good start to the Really Super Sunday.
1:20: Second round under way and Eagels get a good hold. My hands are shaking not a good sign.
1:30: Birds have the lead. This is going well. Almost too well.
1:45: So good. Wow you could not ask for a better start for the birds.
1:50: Now the giants fans at the place I'm at, are starting to get pissed, gotta love the tag of favorites.
2:06: Wow the birds could not play worst and still have the lead.
2:45: Wow they have been terrible and still have the lead. I can not believe that. What the hell.
3:20: I really should have taken up something different for a hobby. This way to stressful. Eagles have the lead back. This is nuts. Heart rate on verge of going off the chart.
3:50: Birds up two scores and feel nervous. This is not healthy.
4:10: Wow three weeks a going to the NFC Championship Game seemed like a pipe dream. Now its a reality.
5: For some reason I have no emotional involvement in the Chargers v. Steelers game and just saw a quick kick, what an amazing day.
6:20: Third shirt of the day, North Carolina, is on and ready to go. Let's hope the Heels do what United and the Eagles have already done. Win.
8:00: Carolina vs. Wake Forest in HD. This day is getting better and better.
8:22: Wow this Wake team is better then I thought. Saw them during one of the Thanksgiving time and they were ok never, not this good. Jeff Teague is a player.
8:54: The Heels finally got the lead. Have not played well but now have the lead.
9:20: The second half of the final game is underway. Let's go Heels.
9:34: Starting to show affects of the day but trying to hang in there till the end.
9:45: Wow is Jeff Teague is reminding me of the performance of Randolph Childress put in at ACC Tournament a bunch of years ago.
10:08: So the Heels are not going with the plan today. But two out of three ain't bad.
Wow what a day, lots of yelling at the TV and text messages on the Blackberry but in the end it has been well worth it with United showing that they are not going to give up their Barclay's Premier League title and the Birds going to the NFC title game. Wow.

I guess I was wrong
A couple of weeks ago, I sat here and said that it was over for the for Mc5 and the birds, but boy was I wrong. First they beat the Cards on Thanksgiving night and then yesterday afternoon they beat the Giants at the Meadowlands. So I guess this means the season is far from over.
Here is how some papers covered the game in the swaps of Northern New Jersey:
So this means that I'm going to have to keep interested in the rest of the season. Which should be fun.
