Saying Goodbye to an Old Friend

For years the college football season could mean only one thing, The big Horseshoe in Little Havana. But come next year that will come to an end as U moves to their new home Dolphins Stadium.

While the Orange Bowl was not the most modern stadium it offered the U a place they could call home. From the smoke at the start of the games to the open stadium at the one end, it gave the Canes the grit and drive they would need to burst onto the college football landscape.
Over the years the U history's books are full of great memories included Orange Bowl battles with Nebraska and classic regular season games with Florida State. During their time in the broken down all building the Canes won 57 in a row at one point.

Orange Bowl you will be missed. Steward Mandel does a great story on what made the OB great.

Notre Dame's new hero is not good with the cops

Wow the top high school player in all of the land can not even get beer without causing an issue. Uber recruit Jimmy Clausen, of Super Power Notre Dame, was cited for transporting alcohol. I hope that Clausen has this type of judgement on the field.

Indiana State Excise Police cited the 19-year-old Clausen and a 23-year-old outside the Belmont Beverage store at 1621 South Bend Ave., near the Notre Dame campus, police said, according to the South Bend Tribune.
Excise police were in an unmarked car outside the store to catch minors attempting to get alcohol, said Lt. Tim Cleveland, a police spokesman.

The best part of the story is that he will have to pay a small fine and then be part of a pretrial program. I hope that Charlie Weiss paid all of the cops off with Ring Dings.
