Fun with Facebook: Bottom of table Spurs

Things are really going well at White Hart Lane, the fans are done singing the praises of their great Spanish manager and relegation seems like it could happen. Just one look at Facebook and you will find a nice great developing to watch the demise of Spurs.

So come May, their will be a large group cheering if Spurs are in the Fizzy Pop League in 2009-2010.

Oh no not again

In College Football there really are not that many certain things, but one of those certain things is that if Notre Dame wins 10 games they will be taking part in the a BCS game and with a record of 3-1 they might be on their way to returning to a show case game.

I know what people are saying, they can not be good enough to play in a BCS game, but they do not have to, just get ranked high enough and they will be there.

One look at their remaining schedule and it seems like 10 wins is not that far off, and you better believe that if the they get to 10 wins they will be ranked in the top 10 in country.

Here is there remaining schedule:

• Stanford: now that is a win
• North Carolina: the game that might derails their BCS chance, but a young heels teams, so an Irish win is not out of the question.
• Washington: They are terrible and without do it all QB Jake Locker might mean a 30 point win.
• Pitt: A win here is something that should be expected.
• Boston College: This Eagles team is not as good as last years.
• Navy: A game they should win
  
• Syracuse: Might be the worst BCS Conference team in the country.
• USC: That might be a tough ask.

Just by looking at the schedule asking the Irish to go 7-1 is not out of the question and if that happens say hello to a Notre Dame vs. Alabama Sugar Bowl. Wow that game has 34-10 'Bama written all over it.

The Growth of Network

For the last couple of years, Gol TV has been thought of the third network of soccer in the United States, but over the last couple of months that appears to be changing. Gol TV has updated its network a lot in order to rival Setanta and FSC.

The biggest change for Gol TV has been the updating of their graphics. In the past it looked like a middle schooler did all of the graphics on a Commodore 64, but that all appears to be a thing of the past now. The graphics on shows such of Gol TV news seem to be cleaner and more eye catching.

In addition to the updated graphics the network has decided to add more program to the network. Show the like the Art of Football allow viewers to see inside the game. The network also continues a ton of soccer, including the German, Spanish, and a number of South American League.

It's only a matter of time before people start to sit up and notice the improvements that the Tampa based network has made.

An ode to a Hob Nailed Boot

For the last three decades Georgia fans have been treated to one of the best announcers in the country, Larry Munson. But this Saturday will be the first time since the late 60's that Munson will not call a game between the hedges.

A bunch of years ago, my girlfriend, who is now my wife, made the trip down to see our friend at UGA for the Auburn game and before the game Munson was out front of the stadium signing schedule posters. So we all went up to get our posters signed and I told Larry to sign my poster and he put the wrong name, but I did not care. It was great to be able to talk to a legend like that and to see the people telling classic Munson story was also great.

So when people are watching the game Saturday night between UGA and 'Bama, take a minute to remember the man that gave us the classic phrase "Hob Nailed Boot.'' His voice made you feel like you were sitting right next to him.

Here are some of Munson's famous phrases:

• Buck back. Third down on the 8. In trouble. Got a block behind him. Going to throw on the run. Complete to the 25, to the 30. Lindsay Scott 35, 40. Lindsay Scott 45, 50, 45, 40. Run Lindsay! Maybe Spurs are that Bad

Maybe everyone was wrong.

Maybe Spurs are really this bad.

Last night after dinner, I went down to the Only Time Will Tell offices and watched Spurs UEFA Cup game and EPL game and one thing became clear, maybe they are what their record says they are.

Sure they spent a ton of money on the likes of Bentley, Giovani, Pavlyuchenko and Modric. But maybe these players are not worth the money that they paid for them.

One things is starting to become obvious, Spurs lack that creative midfielder that can control the play. Three years ago they had that in Michael Carrick but they sold to Manchester United and since them they have not been the same, sure they received a nice sum of money, but in the end they might have been better off keeping him and moving forward.

Once Spurs solve their midfield problem they will again be a force, but until they do, they will continue to under achieve.

The Candy Canes

Could a 21 point loss be the best thing that could have happened to the U.

A couple of weeks the U went down to Florida Field and gave the Gators all they could handle for three and a half quarters. During the game Randy Shannon's gang showed the nation that the Baby Canes are going to be OK.

Fast forward a couple of weeks and Miami went to College Station and beat the Aggies soundly, with Robert Marve (above) playing like a future star.

So could the Baby Canes be the best team in the ACC. Just look around the league Wake Forest is a good team but the rest of the teams are nothing to be scared of.

Could the Canes be in Jacksonville in early December battling for a BCS, don't laugh it really could happen.

Fresh off England 4-1 win over Croatia, Don Fabio again sits down with the boy for part of their great interview. At least Ashely Cole will be happy with one of the songs on Don Fabio's ipod.

During the last couple of years the England U-21 has been a great sense of pride for the FA. The team has shown the grit and pride that has not been seen on the senior team in sometime.

At the last European U-21 Championship England went out in the semifinals to the Dutch in a shootout for the ages. After the game all of the players were in tears, unlike their senior team counter parts. When the senior team loss to Croatia none of the players shed a tear.

This is one of the major difference between the teams. The little Three Lions of Noble, Agbonlahor, and Hart play with a passion for the shirt, its something that has been lacking on the senior team for sometime.

Maybe its for Don Fabio to give Noble and Gabbie a shot at the senior team. Maybe they are not as skilled but they sure would play with a passion that has been lacking for sometime on the senior team.

At long last the College Football season is here and like last year the Only Time Will Tell Tailgating Crew will be spending most of at Rutgers University. The season did not start well for the Knights, but the Crew did put in a solid first effort and hopes to improve over the next couple of games.
