Fun in the Nationals Outfield

First the Nationals went after Lastings Milledege (above) and his bad rapping and got him. Which is not that bad, hey he never did anything illegal. Now it appears that the Nationals are on the verge of getting one of the greatest head cases in baseball Elijah Dukes from the Tampa Bay Devils Rays.

Dukes has all kinds of issues over the course of the last couple of years.

  • Since 1998 Dukes has been arrested six times.
  • In May, it was reported that his wife filed a restraining order after he threatened to kill her
  • In June a 17 year-old foster child, who was living in the care of a relative of Dukes, accused him of impregnating her, then Dukes appeared on a radio show and lost it.

While Milledege has also had his issues over the years.

  • Prior to the 2003 amateur draft, reports regarding Milledge's expulsion from Northside Christian High School after his junior year for allegedly having sex with a 15-year-old girl came out.
  • In May, it was reported that Milledge appeared in a rap song, "Bend Ya Knees," by Manny D, a childhood friend. The song drew the ire of the Mets and the new York media.

I cannot wait until one of them misplays a ball in the middle of the outfield, they just might start fighting with each other right there.
