Its been a wild ride for Chip Kelly and the Eagles since he took over. Here is a look at how its has gone through a collection of Philly Daily News front pages.

OTWT NCAA Selection Committee Thoughts

So we have our field of 68 for the NCAA Tournament and for the most part you can't argue with the teams selections. The biggest issue I have with this committee is the seeding of the teams that they selected.

Here are some quick thoughts about the field:

• How is Miami not a number 1 seed. They won the ACC regular season and tournament title and they are only a 2 seed. Would that have happened if this was UNC or Duke.
• The committee must hate Larry Scott the Pac 12. How does the Pac 12 tournament champion, Oregon, ended up with a 12 seed. A 12 seed from a power conference is usually saved for one of the last at-large bids from a power league, not a tournament champion that was ranked for most of the year. 
• A couple of upsets: Colorado over Illinois; Ole Miss over Wisconsin; and Oregon over Okie State.
• Players that America will get to know: Colorado guard Spencer Dinwiddie and Ole Miss guard Marshall Henderson. 

Win the Day

Win the Day, its the slogan that is posted all over the football facilities at the University of Oregon and 
today new Eagles head coach Chip Kelly did exactly that. 

Kelly was introduced as the 21st head coach in the franchise history and today he showed why he was so well thought of. Kelly did a nice job letting Eagles fans know the type of person he is. For all of Andy Reid's success with the Birds, he never owned a press conference like Chip did today. 

“I know that the second most important bowl, besides the Super Bowl, which is my goal, is the Wing Bowl,” Kelly said in his introductory news conference.  “I am not going to participate, but I understand what this city is all about and I’m just glad that I got an opportunity to be here."

Could you imagine this line coming out of Andy mouth.

While winning the press conference does not mean anything for a coaches record, but it might be the most important game he has. By winning this press conference, Kelly has showed fans that he has an outgoing personality something that Andy did not have. 

So day one of the Chip Kelly's tenure with the birds was a success lets rest of it holds.

Putting all of the Chips on the table

The Eagles search for a new coach is now over and its Oregon's Chip Kelly. About 10 days ago, Kelly said he was staying at Oregon but that all changed Wednesday morning when he said yes to the birds. The twitter world exploded, here are some of the best.

Maybe it's time to start the list

With the Eagles starting to look like the laughing stock of the league it's time look for a new leader. Here are my top guys:
1. John Gruden: MNF color commentator: Super Bowl winning coach enough said.
2. Sean Payton: Saints head coach: will be costly but well worth it.
3. Mike McCoy (pictured above): Denver offensive coordinator: Last year he made Tim Tebow look like an NFL qb and now this year he has changed everything and is working with Payton Manning. Could be the perfect coach for a team with a young qb. McCoy is the guy that I want, if Gruden and Payton take a pass and go somewhere else. He was the Only Time Will Tell seal of approval.
4. Perry Fewell: Giants defensive coordinator: Hiring from a rival might be a little hard, but Fewell has been really respected around the league and could be the defensive coach the fan base wants.
5. Chip Kelly: Oregon head coach: Kelly spoke to the Bucs last year about their opening and is very highly regarding in NFL circles.

Rutgers: The New Oregon

For the last couple of years, the University of Oregon has set the college football world on its ears with its different combinations of uniforms. You name the shade of green, the Ducks use it. This year Oklahoma State got into the act with a bunch of different uniforms. Now Rutgers seems to be getting into it. With the Army game on Saturday, Rutgers is set to wear their six different uniform in nine games. On Saturday, Scarlet Knights are set to introduce a white helmet with an American flag logo Rutgers logo on it

Here is the break down:

• North Carolina Central State: All red 
• Ohio: red jersey/white pants/red helmets
• Syracuse white jerseys/red pants/red helmets
• Pitt: All black 
• Navy: red jerseys/white pants/red helmets
• Louisville: white shirts/black pants/black helmets.
• West Virginia: all black
• USF: all red 
• Army: white helmets with an American flag "R"

So far the different uniform combinations have been fine, I just hope that the Nike and the school continue to tasteful when it comes to the uniform design.

OTWT Mock MLB Draft

BCS Title Game In Newspapers

The computers and the polls have spoken and Auburn and Oregon are set to meet in the BCS Title game in Jan. 10. Here are the front pages of a home town Auburn paper and a home town Oregon paper.

College Football all weekend long

It's finally here and OTWT will be tweeting all weekend on all of the games going on this from tonight's Oregon/Boise State game to the Rutgers vs. Cincy game, which the tailgating crew will be at. So follow us on twitter.

Proof Joey Harrington was once good

When you have a great season in college football the following year, you get the honor of gracing EA Sports NCAA Football. During the 2002 season there was no greater player in college football then Oregon QB Joey Harrington. So after he graduated he was on the cover of the NCAA Football.

A couple of days ago I was walking through GameStop and saw a used copy NCAA Football 2003, for less then a dollar, with a player that I did not remember. After a while it hit me, it was Joey Harrington.

So what if Harrington was a disaster in Detriot. At least we can all remember at one point he was good.

Is he worth it?

For the last eight months Miami fans have thought that their offense next season would feature uber recruit Bryce Brown, but that appears to all changing over the last couple of weeks. First Brown decides not to sign with the 'Canes on National Signing Day, fine some people don't like signing on NSD, but then the fun starts.

First his advisor, Brian Butler, says that Brown is going to visit a ton of schools and Miami remained quiet at that time, but now it appears that the Brown's are getting mad that Canes are not showing him the proper the love.

I know that our struggling offense could use a jump start and Brown would be the perfect person to that, but at what cost. Is Brown going to continue to drag this out so no one knows what their offense is going to look like next season. Today, the Browns said that they are not going to visit Miami instead head to LSU.

This situation has gotten so out of control that most Canes fans could really care less what happens to the supremely talented running back. Remember what they say if you play with fire you could get burn and if Oregon, LSU, and Tennessee are going to continue to recruit him, they might not like how the story ends.

It's never to early to look at next season

So all of the underclassmen have declared for the NFL draft and schools are in the process of wrapping up their recruiting; so that means its time for the first 2009 College Football Top 10. Some of the names in the top 10 will be the normal ones, while other will surprise, listed in predicted order of finish.

1. Oklahoma: So they lost again in a BCS game, but no team made out better when it comes to players heading to the draft.
   
2. Florida: Superman returns, but it will not be that easy to replace Harven. It might be possible to see a OH/UF rematch in the BCS National Championship Game next year.
   
3. Texas: I know its more of the same in the top 3. But Colt McCoy returns and they could challenge OU again. The running game should be a little stronger with Nate Newton son coming aboard.
   
4. LSU: After a terrible season last year, the Tigers could be on their way back and if they get uber recruit Reuben Randle there offense could be more explosive.
5. Virginia Tech: With an ACC that is still trying to find its self it would be no shock to see the Hokies back in the national championship picture.
   
6. Oregon: I know this sounds crazy but could this be the year that USC is not the best team in the Pac 10. I think that it might be.
   
7. USC: A whole new defense, well almost. Replacing a starting quarterback. It could take a couple of weeks for the new edition of the Trojans to get going this year.
   
8. Oklahoma State: Ok so the Holiday Bowl did not go the way that they wanted, but with an offense that returns almost everyone it could be a break out year for the Cowboys.
9. Ohio State: TP. enough said.
   
10. Boise State: All of the key parts return and now Broncos have the rep around the country to do something.
    

I'm sure this will change after spring practices are completed, so check back after the spring season for updated rankings.

Winners and Losers of the Bowl Season

Wow the Bowl Season has finally ended and what a season it has been. From the TCU vs. Boise State game early in the season to the Ohio State vs. Texas Fiesta Bowl, there have been a ton of ups and downs. Here are the winner and losers from the bowl season.

Winners

• Non-BCS Leagues: With Boise and TCU playing a high quality game early in the bowl season and Utah's win over Alabama in the Sugar Bowl teams from non-BCS leagues showed that hey can be a major part of the bowl season.
  
• The Pac-10: For years the league was looked at as being soft. A bad national TV deal leads many in the media to think that they are less of a conference, but during the course of the bowl season they showed that they are force from Oregon's win over Oklahoma State to USC bitch slapping of Penn State.
• Senior Big East QBs Pat White and Mike Teal: Two of the more successful players in the history of the Big East, both ended their careers with bowl win. White over North Carolina, Teal over North Carolina State. It was great to see White fathers singing after is son's bowl win, while Teal, who was the laughing stock of the conference at the start of the year, showed the class he had by bounding back and leading his team to another bowl win. As a season ticket holder at Rutgers, I can only say one thing to Mr. Teal, "Thank you."
• Tulsa: They are the little school that could. Every year they do a great job in developing a great offense and this year was no different. With Todd Graham, the Golden Hurricanes will continue to grow.
• Ole Miss and Vandy: Two of the lower SEC teams each won bowl game and the future looks bright for both teams.
  

Losers

• The Big 10: No shocker their. Every year they look slow and not at pace with other teams it was no different this year. Outclassed in the Fiesta and Rose bowls. They need to go back to drawing board.
  
• Miami: As a fan of the U, this was a hard bowl season from the loss to the California to the mess with QB Robert Marve and the firing of Offensive Coordinator Patrick Nix. It was not fun at all.
• The Sun Bowl: 3-0, no it was not a game from the Barclays Premier League, it was a bowl game. Oregon State and Pitt played one of the worst bowl games in years.
  
• The National Media: So an impressive win over Hawaii has made Notre Dame a national program again. Be careful what you wish for.

The bowl season, that was just completed, can be described in one word, Swoosh. All over the month long festival of college football, besides the football, the other constant, was that darn Nike Swoosh .

Take a look at the BCS Bowls, the only team that did not sport the swoosh was Kansas who wore the three stripes of Adidas.

Of the bowl games that were played only two games did not feature the swoosh. In college football its all about the swoosh.

Creamsicles and Mountain Dew

The final weekend of the college football season, saw many upsets and many really bad fashion decisions. Both Tennessee and Oregon decided to go with food type looks for the weekends game.

Tennessee decided it wanted to look like creamsicles for the SEC Title game

Oregon did its best to look like Mountain Dew cans.

Can a Heisman Winner please stand up?

No one wants the Heisman trophy.

Over the course of the season, Heisman Trophy candidates have fallen as fast as top ten teams.

First it was Mike Hart, then it was Tim Teabow, then it was Ray Rice, then Colt Brennan, then it was John David Booty and now it appears one of the front runners for the Heisman is from the northeast, while another spent the summer playing baseball, and another one is a redshirt freshman who plays in a run and shoot offense.

If I had a ballot here is how my top three would go.

1. Matt Ryan, QB, Boston College.
2. Dennis Dixon, QB, Oregon.
3. Micheal Crabtree, WR, Texas Tech.
